Arabba at the foot of the Sella and Marmolada massifs, lies in the heart of the Dolomites. " The Dolomites are an unicum linking different regions and provinces, with a system which positively combines development and environmental protection; an example we should follow, as it represents an important change for the future of our country". This is what Stefania Prestigiacomo, the Italian Minister for the Environment, claims after the nomination of the Dolomites as Unesco World Natural Heritage. The wish to be included in the Unesco World Natural Heritage started in the '90s with the proposal of " Legambiente" and Mountain Wilderness and finally the Dolomites have now the right value known all over the world.
